About Lightening Up

Vision

Empowering people to reignite their spark, to find their passion, to find their purpose, to find their power!

Mission

To use collective knowledge and passion to smash through the barriers that society places on individuals to ensure they are living their best life.

About Madeleine

My name is Madeleine Nicholas, but people call me Maddie. I live in Fremantle, Western Australia, with my fur baby, a schnauzer called Sparky. I spend a lot of my time volunteering in the community, attending co-design workshops with different organisations to help drive positive systemic change for people with disability.

I have always been passionate about helping young people, and I hold qualifications in Youth Work. I feel drawn to this because of my own experiences growing up. If I had known then what I know now, things would have looked very different for me.

That lived experience is what led me to create Self Advocacy Unleashed, a course built to help people find their voice, set boundaries, and know it is okay to say no. I want people to recognise their right to be heard, and to walk into any room knowing what they need and how to ask for it.
